“Depaysement”
平凡なリンゴが思いがけない大きさで思いがけない場所に置かれている。
または岩が空中に浮かんでいるといったルネ・マグリッドの絵画や、ギリシア彫刻とボールとゴム手袋と汽車がなんの脈絡もなく並列されたジョルジョ・デ・キリコの作品。
これらはあるモチーフを本来あるべき環境や文脈から切り離して別の場所へ移し置くことで、違和感を生じさせ、受け手に強い衝撃を与えるシュルレアリズム芸術の手法の一つである。
今シーズンのTAVERNはこのデペイズマンの手法を洋服のデザインに取り入れ、素材の掛け合わせや、表裏の逆転、通常ではないシルエットの組み合わせなどで違和感を作り出しながらも洋服として調和をとったバランス感で仕上げ表現したコレクション。
Depaysement

These are one of the surrealist art techniques that create a sense
of discomfort and give a strong impact to the recipient by
separating a motif from the environment and context in which it
should be and moving it to another place.
This season's TAVERN collection has incorporated Depaiseman's
technique into the design, and expressed it with a sense of
harmonious balance as clothes while creating a sense of discomfort
by mixing materials, reversing the front and back, and combining
